An Omori AU that takes place post-game.Following his confession in the hospital, Sunny moves away. With little chance to reconcile fully with his old friends, uncertainties begin to bubble up. Can he still call them friends? Despite promises to stay in touch, the truth is a heavy burden for everyone, and Sunny's journey towards self-acceptance has only just begun.In this AU he explores Blackspace in hopes of facing his deepest feelings and learning more about himself.

Hero's reaction to the truth leaves a significant impact on Sunny. While it's clear Hero is upholding a brave veneer of understanding, he is clearly horrified by how Mari's body was desecrated, and even moreso by the reveal of who suggested it in the first place. It's hard for Sunny to shake Hero's look of abject horror from his mind, and he's plagued with guilt every time Hero reaches out with his typical unconditional compassion. Sunny starts attending school in his new neighborhood. The strain of a high school social life presents unprecedented challenges.
Overwhelmed with the move to the city, his new life, and his frustration that telling the truth didn't magically make things easier for him (processing trauma isn't so straightforward after all), Sunny finds himself in Whitespace with too many questions for the resident shut-in to help with. Sunny knows the answers can be found in Blackspace, but Omori advises against it. When Sunny doesn't relent, Omori concedes, but not without a parting gift.Peeling swathes of Whitespace from around them, Omori creates a safe environment around Sunny, to keep him calmer in Blackspace. The safe space settles around Sunny as a sweater. Around his eyes, a strip of Whitespace serves to shield his identity. From then on, "Sunny" is concealed, and the Dreamer awakens. Omori bids Dreamer good luck, and reminds him not to lose himself in the chaos below.
